Performing in colleges and communities throughout the East Coast, Taikoza has participated in numerous Asian Festivals including Cherry Blossom Festivals in The Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Washington, D.C. and the Beale Street Festival in Memphis. In May of 2003 and December 2004, Taikoza, along with the Japanese Folk Dance Institute of New York, Inc., performed at New York City’s, Peter Norton Symphony Space. These two-hour concerts offered an exciting arrangement of Japanese music and dance, incorporating taiko, koto, shakuhachi and fue. Members of Taikoza perform regularly at corporate events (Merrill Lynch, Gillette, Ameritech, City of Los Angeles, PriceWaterhouse Coopers are examples). Outside of the US, they have toured in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, England, Japan, Canada and Mexico. If you haven’t had the opportunity to see Taikoza live you might consider purchasing one of several CD’s. Beginnings, Taikoza’s first album, was nominated for a 2004 Just Plain Folks Music Award.
